Harbor Point Fitness is a gym in Seattle. Its manager Priya wanted members to buy fresh healthy meals after training without hiring kitchen staff, so she placed a Winnsen smart salad vending machine in the lobby.

The machine stores up to 70 different salads on seven shelves and keeps them chilled behind a glass front. Members order on the 21.5 inch touchscreen, pay by card, QR code or mobile wallet, and the smart elevator lowers each bowl gently to an electronic pickup door, so nothing is dropped or shaken.

Within four months the machine became the busiest healthy food counter in the building. Members buy lunch after morning sessions, nearby office workers stop in, and Priya restocks the shelves once a day.

Can a salad vending machine work in a gym or an office building? This case shows that it can. It needs only a power supply, a small floor space and one daily restock.

Winnsen has designed and built vending machines and lockers since 2006 and has delivered certified products to more than 100 countries.
